June 2008: At A Studios mixing Make ’em Dance

June 2008: At The A Room Studios mixing Make ’em Dance

Make ’em Dance was actually written for the POWER OF ROCK AND ROLL CD but ended up on Vagabond Bones.  It ended up becoming the first single released to Canadian radio from that CD and nearly broke Top 30 on the Canadian rock charts, which was unheard of for a band like us with no record company push.  Another oddity of the song was that it was drummed by Brent Neimi.  The drummer on Power of Rock and Roll was Rob McEachern.  Brent had just been at The A Room recording A HEAVY MENTAL CHRISTMAS and without me knowing it, laid down the drums for Make ’em Dance with Gord and Aaron when I wasn’t there.

In this clip Aaron Murray (co-producer) and Gord Prior (producer & writer) are at the mixing board.  I’m filming. The still picture is from South Texas Rock Fesitval.   From left to right, back row:  Brent Neimi/drums, Gord Prior/producer & songwriter, Johnny Paterson/sound, Rick Van Dyk/guitar, Paul Fonsenca/bass, Brian Vollmer (me!)/vocals Front row:  Jim Lawson/guitar.
