This was our second indie album, following the successful release of Breaking Loose in 1979. Although it did not perform as well as B.L., it became a #1 import in England, largely because of the song “Women Whiskey & Sin” written by Brian Vollmer. He had taken the title from a line in the Styx song “Born for Adventure”. The popularity of the song, combined with the rising wave of metal music in England led to articles in the British Sounds and Kerrang Magazines. This interest helped the band to be signed to Capitol/E.M.I. on the band’s next album No Rest for the Wicked. This was because of David Muntz, who worked for E.M.I. in England. He realized the impact of bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest in that country and saw the potential for HELIX.
