Greg "Fritz" Hinz is the most widely recognized Helix drummer. Fritz burned an image into the minds of Helix fans with his colourful on stage antics along with his solid heavy beat.
Fritz joined Helix after the departure of Leo Niebudek in 1982 and remained with the band until departing for the sunny skies of Florida in 1997. It was a number of years later that Fritz would return to Canada.
In 2009, Fritz made his return to the Helix drum throne and his former bandmates Brian Vollmer, Brent Doerner and Daryl Gray.
